01

Variation is normal

Bodies vary in size, shape, colour, hair, scent, sensitivity and development. Pornography, filters and advertising are not reliable guides to ordinary anatomy or sexual response.

02

Keep hygiene simple

Gentle external washing and clean, breathable clothing are usually enough. Strong fragrances, harsh products and internal cleansing can cause irritation or disrupt the body’s normal balance.

03

Pain is information

Persistent pain, itching, sores, unusual discharge, bleeding after sex, a new lump or a sudden change deserves medical attention. Avoid diagnosing yourself from images online.

04

Sexual response is not consent

Physical arousal can be an automatic body response. It does not prove desire, enjoyment or consent. Communication remains essential.

Keep these three points

What to remember

  1. Normal bodies are diverse.
  2. Gentle care is safer than aggressive cleaning.
  3. Persistent or sudden changes need professional advice.
